The Lyttelton Arms – Camden in Motion

The Lyttelton Arms, Mornington Crescent, London

For The Lyttelton Arms in Mornington Crescent, we were tasked with bringing a burst of local flavour and timeless charm to the heart of the pub. The result? A vibrant mural that dances—literally and visually—through Camden’s rich cultural landscape.

At the centre of the composition are legendary Lindy Hop dancers Willa Mae Ricker and Leon James, mid-swing in a joyful moment captured from a 1943 LIFE magazine photo. Painted at a bold, near life-size scale, their movement radiates through the space, energising the entire wall with rhythm and nostalgia.

Behind them, we created a flowing photo-collage of iconic local landmarks—Camden Town Bridge, Mornington Crescent Station, the Carreras Cigarette Factory, and familiar residential facades—layered in a warm, retro-inspired palette. Vertical stripes stretch from wall to ceiling, echoing musical equalizer bars and pulling the composition upward, adding height and motion.

This mural isn’t just a backdrop—it’s a celebration. A lively fusion of dance, music, architecture, and local spirit that transforms a cosy corner of the pub into a colourful story of the neighbourhood’s past and present.
